Getting to the 14th arrondissement: RER B, Orly, Gare Montparnasse and the metro

A guest’s first contact with your home is not the front door: it is the journey from the airport or the station. Clear directions save calls at midnight and late arrivals. Here are the ways into the 14th as we set them out in the welcome books we write for owners, along with what has changed recently.

From Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle: RER B

RER line B has one of its northern termini at Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2 TGV. It crosses the city and stops in the 14th at two stations: Denfert-Rochereau and Cité universitaire. A guest landing at Roissy can therefore reach the arrondissement without changing trains.

Denfert-Rochereau station, in our photo, opened in 1846 as the terminus of the Sceaux line and has been a listed historic monument since 1996. It connects with metro lines 4 and 6.

From Orly: Orlyval then RER B, and the end of the OrlyBus

Orlyval links the Orly terminals with Antony station, where guests board RER B towards the city as far as Denfert-Rochereau or Cité universitaire. Metro line 14 has run to Orly since June 2024, but it has no station in the 14th, so a change of line is needed on the way.

One thing to fix in older instructions: the OrlyBus, which left from Denfert-Rochereau, stopped running on 3 March 2025. If your welcome book or listing still mentions it, it needs to come out.

From Gare Montparnasse

Gare Montparnasse straddles the 14th and the 15th. It handles TGVs from Brittany and the Pays de la Loire, trains from the South-West such as Bordeaux, regional TER services from Normandy and Centre-Val de Loire, and Transilien line N. Montparnasse-Bienvenüe metro station gives access to lines 4, 6, 12 and 13. For a flat near rue de la Gaîté or Pernety, line 13 serves Gaîté and Pernety stations.

The metro and tram in the arrondissement

  • Line 4: Denfert-Rochereau, Mouton-Duvernet, Alésia, Porte d’Orléans
  • Line 6: Edgar Quinet, Raspail, Denfert-Rochereau, Saint-Jacques
  • Line 13: Gaîté, Pernety, Plaisance, Porte de Vanves
  • T3a tram: Porte de Vanves, Didot, Jean Moulin, Porte d’Orléans, Montsouris, Cité universitaire

At night, Noctilien buses N14, N21, N122 and N123 call at Denfert-Rochereau.

What we write for your guests

In the digital welcome book, we give the nearest station, the exit to use and the walk to the door, with the code or the key box. We leave out journey times and fares, which change: guests check them in the RATP app. The real arrival time then shapes the check-in. Is your flat close to the station? See our page on Montparnasse and Gaîté.
